National Suicide Prevention Month Challenge
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. USAFA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Richard M. Clark ’86 has accepted the 22-pushup challenge from Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Mike Gould '76, AOG and Air Force Academy Foundation chief executive officer, to raise awareness of the estimated 22 veteran suicides per day.
Lt. Gen. Clark encourages all graduates to participate, reach out to fellow classmates, take care of each other, and extends the 22-pushup challenge to the Class of 2022.
For veterans, crises can be heightened by their experiences during military service. If you’re a veteran or service member and in crisis, these resources can help. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-TALK.
