Ways to Give

The Air Force Academy Foundation is dedicated to providing transformative private support to the Air Force Academy.

In order to substantially increase the impact of philanthropy at the United States Air Force Academy, the Foundation has a commitment to increase the amount of unrestricted funds that are available to help advance Academy priorities.

Unrestricted gifts provide the Foundation with the flexibility to respond to annual operational needs and priorities of the Academy, as set forth by the Superintendent. In accordance with Foundation guidelines, 10% of all gifts are allocated for unrestricted use, to be used for one or more of the following purposes: cadet programs; support for the Association of Graduates and other Academy-affiliated non-profit organizations; and operations of the Foundation.

As a 501(c)(3) charity, the Foundation provides donors with a broad variety of giving options and funds to support, making it easy to tailor donor interests with Academy priorities. We strive to make the act of supporting the Academy personally fulfilling and efficient for every donor.

Gifts can be classified by intent or type. Donors can support the Academy through the Foundation in several ways: annual giving, class gifts, estate gifts, memorial gifts, or funds for specific purposes.

Donors can make a contribution to a fund set up with a variety of firms or organizations and take a charitable tax deduction in the year of the contribution. Then the donor, as the adviser, can direct distributions from the DAF to the public charity of their choice. The Air Force Academy Foundation outlines more DAF information on its gift planning website, including a downloadable PDF.

The Air Force Academy Foundation accepts cryptocurrency as donations to support the U.S. Air Force Academy. Cryptocurrency donations are tax deductible and your gift will be larger because instead of paying capital gains taxes, the Foundation will receive the full value of your contribution. You will need to provide your name, address and email for the gift to be tax deductible. For more information about giving using cryptocurrency, please contact Chris Brewer at chris.brewer@afacademyfoundation.org.
